I had a landlord who had one and we used to go to the pub in it.  ::)  Generally coming home he'd demonstrate the handling by going round and round a smallish roundabout with his foot to the floor, going faster and faster and me pressed up against the passenger door.  ;D

How we never span off I'll never know, but we lived to tell the tale. Happy days!  :y

Great little cars. Leagues above the hideous Mins that everyone seemed to like for reasons I have never fathomed.  :)

I hired one in Colchester in the very early 70's. XNO69L. Drove it to Liverpool via Manchester, all over Liverpool for a week, and back via Manchester. I seem to remember it being quite nippy.

Many years ago a guy in our village raced a couple of Bevan Imps. He had the George Bevan track cars as well as a couple of his daily use Imps.

Great little engines for tuning.
I knew someone who had a Davrian kit car in the 70,s fitted with an 1140 fuel injected Imp engine and it went like a stabbed rat.

I loved mine too, but like most old cars now, decent examples  go for silly money.

A good friend had an ex works rally  Imp but fitted with only a mildly tuned engine. Great fun. He sold it to a chap in Ireland and delivered it to the ferry where it stuck in reverse gear. I bought a cooking Imp for 25 quid. It was an absolutely ghastly car. Definitely in the top three worst cars I ever owned. Still managed to sell it for a profit. It makes my bum pucker even now thinking about how horrible it was.

Much preferred a well sorted Cooper S back in the day.

Many moons ago I had an Imp van. Great little thing far better than the Mini.
