Has anyone ever removed the housing for the pollen filter? Is it done from the engine bay side or up behind the dash? If it has to be from behind the dash I presume its a pig of a job

Though the engine bay by removing the scuttle partially and you should gain access to the cabin filter

What I meant was that you can remove the filter from engine bay side by taking off the scuttle partially, thatīs how I did it in my Omega. So you donīt need to remove dahsboard or anything inside the cabin.

I think the OP is asking how to remove all the plastic mounts and ducting through the bulkhead....

Can’t see anything in Haynes but from the drawings it looks like the pollen filter housing drops in from above, with the three fixing nuts likely to be up behind the glovebox on the inside.

Glovebox, fan and airbag removal will strip away most of the passenger dash allowing significantly improved access to visualise and strip the interior parts of the cabin air intake

It will also give an unfiltered view of the areas that rot away unnoticed where the firewall and scuttle join the shell.

I found this one for sale on ebay, it doesnt seem to have the 3 fixing nuts as in the original diagram. Hopefully theres 2 bolts on the engine bay side where the top lugs are and it can split from the rest 


Thanks for the tips and advice, will have a go at it tomorrow & will report back if & when its out! Its nice to still have a forum thats still pretty active & plenty of help, any others i was on years ago slowly but surely died a death a long time ago

Possibly bolting into these 2 points on the air con unit?

The air intake connects to the side of the heater box. That image shows the top of it.
