Electricity to Pins 9 and 10 (Towing)
« on: 30 May 2026, 07:56:23 »

Hello, wanted to up-to-date my "Towing Connector" from seven pins to thirteen pins. So what I need is 12V when engine running. Some kind of relay connection  but where to find rtigger for relay (W-pin in alternator?) or does Omega have somewhere in boot that kind of 12V ready?

You could just use an adapter...

Basically you'll need to rewire your existing set up from scratch.

There may have been a plug in the boot, under the sill plate/in the rear panel on the estate, not sure on the saloon but presumably in a similar place... Square black plug iirc.

Obviously what's there and useable depends entirely on how well or badly the existing wiring was done :-X

Thanks DG, wiring was done in Opel Factory in 2001 so presumably well done. Used the adapter so far bur want to get  pin 9 to charge mobile home battery and even more important pin 10 to get refrigerator work with 12V during towing. I want to get Ice Cold Beer  when I am in destination. I take a look...

There's an additional official kit for adding the extra trailer socket to the old school wiring. This could presumably be added and the two sockets replaced with one 13 pin connector  :-\

I may have a box with the partial kit at home to give an idea of a part number...

Will check when I next get home ;)

This is what I found from my boot. I red somewhere below that the red wire is hot coming from fuse 29. So I perhaps need some kind of plug as DG informed. Hope he is coming home soon...

Measured red one from vehicle harness side. It is 12V, Towbar side is empty. I took fuse 29 away and rew wire is still 12V. So it is coming somewhere else than No. 29, top row fourth from right. Any idea where it is coming?
