Because my Omega has 17 inch wheels(it's a 3L Elite so I think these were standard fitment?) the spare being 16 inch is classed as a space saver!

It's been a while since I had an Omega, but the original ally wheels on my MFL were 16" and I thought the spare was only a 15" .... the 'space saver' was only cos you'd not fit a wider tyre in the upright stowage.
A MFL Elite would just about fit a standard MFL Elite wheel in a saloon, but it was tight.
