World Cup football
« on: 06 July 2026, 19:59:27 »

What a cluster buck.

I am not a football fan but do watch the football twice every four years. Didn’t stay up for last nights game. 2 pm is just too late. Just wasted 40 minutes trying to get to watch the highlights.

Next game is England versus Norway at stupid hour. Why not have it at a daylight hour for the Americas and evening for the countries that will actually watch it.?

It is a red card from me but it will probably get overridden by the orange one. Bastardos.

Anyway here goes Spain versus Portugal

Norway v England is 10 o'clock on Saturday evening, hardly stupid o'clock. In fact, it's a rather good time.

11 pm for us. Better than 2 am but not ideal.

Same for Norway. Rubbish time.

Playing a game with a 'good' European start time of (say) 8pm in the evening means a US start time of somewhere between noon and 3pm US time (depending which city). That's the hottest part of the day

Zackly. And people forget the effect of altitude in Mexico City as well. Not sure which US cities are hosting because I haven't given any of it a second , or first for.that matter, thought.

It looks as though USA are out of the  competition. However, a phone call from Trump could still see them win the world cup. :)
