Ruddy technology
« on: 03 August 2026, 18:42:16 »

Trying to watch some uk tv. Normally works ok. Just spent 35 minutes…….

This is the no children dividend coming home to roost. Anyone young enough to be adopted please come forward.

I remember back in the seventies bein told to prepare for a four or possibly THREE day week as technology kicked in and made our lives easier and replaced mundane jobs. My Ar5e. We now spend hours deleting stuff , installing stuff, reading spam emails in case they actually are important, and trying to make things work that should be one click.

Turn the clock forward and now we have AI going to do menial jobs. Now that I believe. Go to Defcon 3, Fire everything we have got. OK.

My parent's doctor's surgery now has an AI receptionist (Emma) that is a PITA to get passed when all you want/need to do is speak to a person!  :-X :-X :-X :-X

Perhaps we should return to some traditional British telly.

The return of The Black And White Minstrel Show, perhaps. ::) :D

I recently flew with a lovely, if long suffering, older Spanish chap. Called Manuel. From Barcelona...

I did almost resist, and apologised ahead of time just in case I succumbed to temptation, but doors to Manuel and cross checked was too good to pass up. >:D He smiled and shook his head in despair.

We were talking only the other day about that. I would add Victor Meldrew and Allo Allo and Black and White Minstrels.
