Can save a fortune. As said above, depends how many in the house hold, how many times a day/week your washing machine goes on. Given the choice I would stay away .... and it would be something I would be looking at if/when we ever move house.  :-/

I live in a 4 bed, fairly high banded house, but only 2 of us.  Water meter for us makes no end of sense.

Thought of that 11 Years ago.  but as a single guy it still didnt sway the result for me.

I was reluctant to go on a meter, but its saved us a fortune - we're paying much less than we did in our old 3 bed semi :)

Our stop cock does not turn, so we bought a 1 metre extended key for outside on the road.

Now everyone will know if we've got problems with the water ;D ;D ;D :-* :-*

i switched over to a water meter and now pay 8 quid a month down from £20 a month !
also as my stopcock is right in the corner of a deep cupboard i decided to fit a cut of switch- brilliant idea :y :y.
