Am sure Lizzie posted a link and a load of pictures regards the launch.

I registered my interest right at the start of all the launch announcements and entered a draw for an exclusive test drive, which I have now been selected for as per the following e-mail from VX:

"Dear Miss Freeman,

Congratulations, by registering your interest in new Insignia, you have been chosen to be one of the first to test drive new Insignia at GM's secret test facility.

Rarely open to the public, Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire provides a unique opportunity to put new Insignia through its paces and discover more about its innovative technology, three months before cars arrive in showrooms.

This is undoubtedly a very special opportunity and we would be delighted if you would join us at one of these events in October 2008. In addition to test driving new Insignia there will be other activities for you to enjoy, plus light refreshments will be available with our compliments.

To reserve your place and preferred date and arrival time, simply register your details at www.newinsigniaevents.com using your unique Logon ID and Password below. But don't delay as places are allocated on a first-come first-served basis and the closing date for registration is 30 September 2008.

Logon ID: xxxxxxx
Password: xxxxxxx

As soon as you have registered and reserved your place, we'll arrange to send you more information about the event.

Please note that this prize is not transferrable and you must be over 25 years of age to drive new Insignia.

If you have any questions or encounter any problems registering your details please don't hesitate to call us on 020 xxxxxx.

We very much hope you can join us and look forward to welcoming you and your guest to this exclusive event.

Yours sincerely,

Andy Gilson
Marketing Director "

As for driving it I am sure I will be able to do what I used to in my Cavalier 1.8SRi and make those front wheels spin!  I highlight the particular innvotation made to me (fancy them doing that to me! ::) ::) ::) :D :D :D ;)) and trust me I will, posting the results after the event. :y 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Sounds like one of those dodgey timeshare events......where your not allowed to leave until you've bought one  ;D ::)

Seriously tho, Im sure you'll have a great time  :y

And if you didnt know thats where they do the conversions for lpg  :y
So its a bit of a vague term 'factory fit lpg' , well it is just not in the same factory as the vx was made  ::)

http://www.millbrookconversions.co.uk/

Interestingly tho i did a search for my nearest Millbrook approved sevice centre......it came up with vx dealer in Chippenham.....who last time I spoke to Millbrook isnt Millbrook approved......that was a year or so ago tho  :-/

Have a great day out Lizzie. I think it will be fantastic fun. Oh by the way, try not to put the new Insignia on its roof, whilst you are trying to judge its resistance to understeer ;D ;D :D ;D :y
