Vauxhall dealers...
« on: 10 October 2008, 17:03:22 »

Went to one of my local dealers for oil and filter..

Me: I want some oil and filter for a Omega

Him: yes sir, what engine size

Me: Its a 3.2

Him: Oh, I didn't know they did a 3.2

Me: And how long have you worked for Vauxhall (sarcastically)

Thats probably why he could only find I can of oil and not 4 for the 4 for the price of 3 offer...

I often had a similar type of conversation with the dealer when I had my Senator.

ME: I'd like a ***** for a 24v Senator please.  ;)

HIM: What engine size is that Sir?  :-/

ME: Vauxhall only do a 24 valve Senator in one engine size .....  :-X

All dealers I have used have done that until I get them to place me on their system, helped now of course by the number plate records they seem to use. :y :y :y

Went to my local dealer last year, and having given up on asking for bits for the Monza, I asked for something for the mig (memory fails me as to what part it was).....

Dealer: "What car's it for"

Me: "An Omega"

Dealer: "....A what??"

There were 3 on the forecourt, all visable from the parts department ::)

From the moment I picked up your book until I laid it down, I was convulsed with laughter. Some day I intend reading it.

I went to Halfrauds once for a king lead and he wanted my reg details.  I had the old one in my hand.  He wanted to order the 'correct' one for 3 days later.  My car wasn't running.  He couldn't get the concept that anything at least as long would do!  >:( >:(

Asked where the bloody rack of all plug leads was, and found one in 2 minutes.  :P

Their system doesn't require the staff to actually think for themselves.  ;)
