But Alex Lifeson from Rush does it for me....accurate, hugely versatile , a terrific songwriter and phenominal live..and as for Neil Peart!!!

Rush are a top band, Neil Peart is incredible but a bit clinical for my tastes.

im a guitar nut but i just dont get the whole srv thing. i tried and tried but to me it sounds just like a pub rock hendrix impersonator. on the best of srv about a third of it is hendrix covers, played nowhere near as well as the originals. i am at a loss to work out why srv is paid so much credit and attention. he even tried to nick the hendrix image with the hat and the outfits.

another great great guitarist not mentioned, and a hugely influential one at that... chuck berry
