Today the faithful old Traktor that refused to die even when drowned & hydrolocked received a 3500 mile service (Oil, Filter & Fuel Filter, new rear shocks (Boge) new front discs & pads (VX)
The cost £400
Is this good value for money?
Mileage now 143.5K

Errr.

Takes about £16 of oil, and £5 or £10 for oil filter (depending on engine type).

Shocks are around £40 each or £60 each depending on whether self levelling.

I doubt they changed air or fuel filters unless you told them to.

So I guess not.  Need to get your hands dirty, and do the job properly, and cheaply ;D

Air & fuel filters were changed
Don't forget new VX discs  pads as well as shocks supplied & fitted
It also got everything else checked & topped up / adjusted etc.
As a musician I need to my protect hands so that's why I get it done by a mechanic with experience in Traktors, the same one who brought it back from the dead when drowned. I trust him implicitly.
I know that the discs & shocks are not cheap

missed the bit about discs. they are around £70 for the set with pads, and wear sensors, if fitted are £7 each

He won't get TC price as end-user.... more likely 100.00+VAT?

I think that for Vx prices he has not been ripped-off, but obviously buying the bits on TC and diving under the beast to change the oil is cheaper by far...  ;D
