Know a good garage in Gateshead ?

Does anyone know a good honest garage near Gateshead , Newcastle.

My eldest doughter is living up there about 150 miles away , and it would be handy if she knew a decent garage up there to take her ageing Astra to, so I don't have to dash up there every time it goes wrong !!

Not that I mind you understand, but a 300 mile round trip to put some brake pads in is a bit over the top.

Just about 6 miles South in Chester-le-street I use Mark Ramsey, he trades as Vehicle Services, Stella Gill Industrial Estate, Chester-le-street, very thorough, old fashioned type. The best garage in my opinion in Gateshead is Staithes Garage, Dunston, the lad is called Phil  and he is mainly an independent Mercedes specialist but I believe he does other stuff as well.
