In the early 90's Harvard started to include modules on Madonna studies in an MA degree course. In the UK we had Luton University offering a BSc in decision making??????? as one wag asked, how did they choose to enrole on that one then?

i feel i must say something on this matter. as every year students and school leavers are getting better and better result and get no prase for it because everyone old than 25 thinks they are getting dumbed down. why cant no one believe they might be getting smarter after all people are stronger bigger and living longer so why cant people be getting smarter. it think its a case of all the older generation will not admit they are not as clever

You have to be smarter to gain the qualifications nowadays.
Electricians for instance, the stuff you have to learn to become one now, compared with years ago. I know, because i took the course.
Though i had to pull out for very personal reasons :-X

That is just patently not the case, universities and employers are all saying that they can't find the right people. As universities are under the dreaded league tables the standards of marking has dropped and the level of plagiarism has allowed to grow unchecked. Why has the level of science based graduates gone down so drastically,i think due to the rise in the many other courses than are available and the fact that these require a less academic approach.Just my 2 penneth don't shoot me.i live in area with a vast student population and get first hand what they are like :y
