Anyway, back to your thread Kris, when was the Astra last given a major service? :-?

feb this year. but having been out and given it the once over it's looks like they didnt do naff all. air filter rammy, plugs rotten. oil needs another change. not fickin impressed. they even stamped the book. will order the parts and do it myself on tuesday.

That's what I expected Kris!

Usually when an engine starts cutting out at low revs it often means dirty or blocked components, and what often sorts the problems out is a major service, with plugs, all filters and of course, oil, along with a good clean out of anything that can effect the performance. In the old days this included the carburetta, distributer and points which so often cured all ills.  

This approach still does, especially when you do it yourself! 8-)
