Heating Oil price drop.
« on: 18 November 2008, 20:12:57 »

I`ve run out of Kerosene (aka: 'burning oil') for my H/W heating: I`ve not bought any for well-over a year, mainly because of the sky-high prices.
I called the bunker company today for a price and was quoted 38 p./litre (+5% tax) so, approx 40 p./litre (retail) based on a 1000 litre delivery.....quite a drop from the 82 p./litre price-quote earlier this year! :o

£400 for a partial tank-refill! :(
.....still a bit rich for the Deb`s towers budget at the moment; maybe the price will drop a bit more-yet?......`though I doubt if we`ll see a return to the regular oil price of 18 p./litre experienced for many years before the oil-world went greedy.

I hope it does drop more Debs... Just a bit cheesed off because I had 1550L delivered about 3 months ago... Couldn't wait much longer as I was concerned it'd go up from the 50.3ppl I paid when demand grew. >:( >:( :'( :'(

I phoned around today Debs, and the cheapest I could get was 39.95 + vat, based on 1000 litres.

I did not buy it because I had 250 litres left, and I noticed this

http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/local-national/price-of-home-heating-oil-to-be-cut-in-half-14006726.html

Although it is in Northern Ireland it gives you some idea of what may be instore for the future. Perhaps?
