Confused on Ebay!!
« on: 30 December 2006, 11:57:58 »

I've currently got the GLS on ebay as a classified ad, not an auction. The thing that's confusing me is that I've got 22 watchers   :-?  What's the point in watching a classified ad? There's no bidding so you can't tell what it sells for. I'm hoping that the watchers are going to bombard me with questions after the new year  ;D Had some interest already so here's hoping  ;)

Cheers Jim

probably idiots who forget its not an auction  ::)

You put it on Autotrader? - I found them excellent for my project cars, i put my '98 2.5 V6 Reflection on there with 9 high res pics, sold within 24 hours  :y

Had about 6 calls in one day asking about it, the first guy who rang bought it  ;D

The 22 watchers are probably hoping you dont sell it then they will e-mail you when the classified ad finishes with a  lower price than your looking for the car.

Hi Mark,
Glad you think it's a bargain Mark, I wasn't sure on pricing as it's only a GLS but does have the lpg. Hopefully, it's a fair price.
I used the classified ad as it as it worked well with the Scirocco. With an auction, if you live a fair bit away from the car, you have to either buy it blind or take a trip to view then another to collect. I know this puts me off a lot of cars that I see on eBay. The Classified format is just like advertising in Autotrader ect with the advantage of a more in depth description and 12 photos. I opted for larger photos and it only cost me £11 for 28 days of advertising :). Also, once you sell, there is no final fee. By the time you use an auction format with a reserve and final fees, it would cost a lot more.

Cheers Jim

With standard auctions you can have unlimited pictures if you host them elseware  :y

Autotrader is only £5 for 2 weeks on their website, think i will use only them when advertising in the future  :y

Hi Tunnie,
I didn't realise that autotrader was that cheap on their website, I know it's about £30 to use the mag  :o

I'll certainly keep it  in mind for the future, thanks  :y

Yeah its stupid prices for the mag, and you have to wait for printing.

Online only for 2 weeks was about £5/6 ish i think. I had 9 pictures on the ad, all good high res images & a huge description!  ;D

Sometimes, sometimes not....  ....I think the mag fee allows you to enter web ad for free, but not entirely sure....
