Thats a lot of miles
« on: 29 December 2006, 22:32:26 »

Hey everybody!  Back down south in the garden of England.  Just finished yesterday eve. the annual relatives run, but most of the buggers have moved. Have been to sunny Borehamwood in Herts, Peterlee in Durham, Methil in Scotland (couldn't tell you the county) nearly forgot my passport to cross the border then down to Camarthan in south Wales and back home via Crawley in Surrey. Not all in one day but since boxingday. Have covered nearly 2500 miles and the old girl didn't miss a beat, what a mile eater. Averaged about 28-35 mpg depending on how clear the blacktop was. I thought my old 850 volvo was a mile cruncher but the 'meega did it with more comfort and impressed the relatives more than my newer Volvo did.  :y

Hope you all had a good Christmas :)

iiiiits funny you think I would be but feel okay, fighting fit ready for the new year,

Must admit i was greatful for the slush box in traffic, saved pumping a clutch up and down for 3 miles of traffic. Cruise was a god send and while wifey was curled up on the passenger seat with her side on full heat ( I dunno must be a woman thing) i had my side nice and cool. ;D

On some roads up north though wished for a manual and an empty car, there are some great roads up there :y

Cheers Jim

Don't worry the border patrols will stop all Omegas with southern plates on to ask them the purpose of their visit and take a copy of their passport ;D :y

I was thinking the same thing Broocie, the 30mph is actually a minimum limit there as they can nick your wheels at anything below that  ;D  ;D  ;D
