A question you did not ask was can you afford it? gonna have a hefty mortgage and after your recent thread on money saved, remember all the extra's that come with a house, not just the mortgage :-/

I bought mine nearly 7 yrs ago, buyers market then & i bought it to stay put so not bothered what it's worth, but only buy cheap now if you can afford to wait for the recession to end & property prices to pick up again which in 2 or 3 years time they will, then you can cash in.
There's money to be made in property, even now the general slump can work in your favour but tread carefully. Trust those you know ie family solicitors/accountants who will act in your favour & have proven to be trustworthy, done the conveyancing on parents/other family properties etc.
