The Omega is a comfortable car, but the most comfortable I've owned
was  Ford Granada Ghia 2.9i 4x4 with adjustable pneumatic lumbar
support.

I once drove it, in one day, from Monaco, along the Riviera, up
through central France to Calais, ferry to Dover, then right up
England to Manchester.

Arrived as fresh as a daisy, without any aches or pains, as did
my wife and daughter.

Must admit, the Omega is the next most comfortable, which as Debs
says, is one of the reasons we like and drive them.

should of heard me when i drove to belguim in my rover416. pain was doing me head in from the seats  :(

Had to do a night-time return dash trip to Heathrow a couple of nights ago.
Three adults, luggage for two, three adult Border Collies (and a puppy in an airline travel crate).....514 miles at 33.8 mpg (door to door average).
On 'cruise' at 70 mph for nearly all the motorway portions (M54,M6,M5,M40,M25); I arrived home fresh and without any aches/pains or seat-sores: what a smashing long distance estate car! :y

Almost exactly the same figures that my 2.6 will achieve on a long run.

If you think about it .....Omegas are the used bargain of the century..................Air-con.....heated seats.....leather(not mine sadly)....six cylinder perfomance....exceptional comfort....acceptable economy.............and a good example to be had for less than £1000.

As Debs puts it.........what a smashing long distance car.....I concur.. :y :y :y :y

What's not to like? Comfort, speed, reasonable mpg on a run, 3000revs @ 80mph in a 3.0 ltr manual, acres of room, etc. Not a bad owners forum either!!!!!
Despite all the above i only drive mine 'cos you've got one Debs!!! :P
