It was pretty quick 145 is not slow, acceleration - well it did shift, handling was quite good but a 250 was quicker in slow tight corners.

I managed to leave behind a hard driven Sierra with picnic table on the boot.
Any 250 or higher should leave any standard car for dust...

Hmm I'd say a standard high 20s bhp 250 is similar in acceleration to a say a 2.0 H/C Carlton (remember I used to deliver cars)
On a slightly different subject, have they fitted that dsl service yet?

A decent 250 should be 40+bhp, and the last one I was one was a flyer...

Mine was 27bhp, the 100 was 12 then at least 15bhp, the 600 was 85bhp.

My 100 would just about keep up with friends Superdreams, at the time most 250s were 27bhp except for the X7, most 100s struggled to get much over 65 and mine was the first capable of genuine 70 as well as being first hydraulic disc braked 100.

Polished & raised ports, Micron pipe, bigger jet and an extra tooth on front sprocket made it quick for its engine size.

I ran a few 250 TSCC Suzuki 250s while poor (unemployed then rubbish jobs) fragile electrics but went OK.

Got a 600 when I got a full time job - got done for totting up within a year so I moved to a less anti bike area and joined the car world

If it isn't working by the weeked I want free for another month >:(

Bl**dy incompetents

I thought Onetel problems were with ISDN as well - nope they are as bad with modems as well - also how can anyone put up with 30 second connection times is beyond me.

I should have insisted in HH reinstall while I waited and waited and waited - I'm phoning tonight!

Go on Tunnie - do it.  It's such a laugh.
Used to have a ZRX1100 before i gave up work to look after the kids.  Had to sell it as didn't have time to ride it, and needed the money to buy my first Omega and pay of a few debts.  Miss it like hell though.  Had a detuned ZZR1100 motor, so not as fast but wow, it sure was great fun.  Always wanted a ZZR1100 as out and out sports bikes are not my thang.

How anyone tolerates HH (ie, ISDN with all the features removed) now is beyond me ;)

You'll probably find that the modem stuff terminates on the same equipment, and goes through same network kit, hence just as bad

TB has a bike, but a ZZR 1100 is a fast bike!  :o
ZZR1100 is a better all round bike than mine. I think it was the replacement for mine.

However, Tunnie, if ever you fancy a go on the back, and you think you're man enough ;)

Pete, there's an excellent forum for ther GPZ900R at www.gpz900r.co.uk  It's only something like a fiver to join for the year and that gives you a reasonable discount with Footman James so worth every penny.  :)

Cheers Jim

Main thing to remember is the ZZR is a sports/tourer whilst the GSXR is a sports bike. The riding position is more extreme on the Gixxer, especially if you have a long inside leg. Although former GP rider Kevin Schwantz has a 34" inside leg and he did "reasonably" well (lol !!).
You may find it a bit cramped compared to the Kwacker.

It depends what you use the bike for..and how often you need more than 150mph

I've had a reasonable cross section over the years. CB200,CB400,DT250MX,CX500B,CBR600,VFR750FL,GSXR750,GS850G,GS1000, CBR1000,GSXR1100M, CB1100 X-11, and after years of ridiculing "tractors",  I now have a "Hardly Movinson" 1200 Sportster...and I luvs it !!

Ok, it ain't a standard motor..and it handles and stops like a pig on a pogo stick, but there's just something about it.

I think it's the fact that I just can't ride "head down, @rse up" bikes sensibly. where as the H-D still has plenty of stomp, a certain BMW M3 driver learnt that. (mind you, that surprised me too !) but also there's "that sound".

What ever you go for...if it makes ya grin, tha's made the right choice !!

Hmmm what do i use the bike for.  Going to work unless the weather looks to dodgy, although enjoying the 'meega and exhaust note at the mo.  sunday rides, or just out playing down the lanes. Had some heart stoppers recently with 140+ bhp and 1 back wheel and leaves and damp patches on the roads. There can be a thin line between grin factor and grimace factor. Still after the heartstoppers you look back and then start grinning again pop up the front wheel and away you go till the next time :y

Yes the gpz900 and zrx1100 are all part of the same family from kwaka. The Gpz being the daddy. :)

How's the ZX10 TheBoy, heard they can be a bit wild at the best of times.

Must admit Turk HD's don't do it for me yet, but you never know in the future, must be nice in their sitting position for long cruising?

Scary :D

Handles far better with front tyre quite hard - front end seems to bottom out less, and the front end bottomed out under heavy braking dyes my pants a dark colour....

My scariest moment was losing the front then the rear then the front again then the rear again.

I was amazed I didn't fall off!

Diesel on road >:(
