i have booked a holiday in ,Parkdean- Tummel Valley, have only ever been to scotland for three days while the missus mother was ill in ninewells hospital , dundee,
anyway has anyone got any suggestions as to where to vist, sight seeing, local history etc,, want to go john'o'groat's and lockness,, and have heard fort william is nice any advice

TIA :)

The various locations like Culluden Moor, Lockness, and the mountains around Aviemore are wonderful. :-* :-* :-*##

However, you must visit as many distilleries as you can for a few wee drams......hick!! :D :D ;)

Having covered that region in September with a merry band of kit car enthusiasts I have to agree. Fitted in a ride on the Strathspey railway too!

In fact, HGV mechanic, I could dig out the routes we did if you're interested, just to give you a few ideas?

Our H21 will no doubt promote the east whilst i will promote the superior west of Scotland  ;D I love Argyll & Bute etc

Wonderful views if its not foggy or rainey...So thats the views wasted.
Wonderful roads to open up the Omega....Problem is speed cameras everywhere....A9 is splattered with them although to be fair some of the driving on that road is atrocious.

Fog - Anytime !! And if its too hot for fog when your here ( ie above 2degrees) then you will have the wonderful...Midge  :-/

Speed Cameras and mobile units very very sneaky up here, as mentioned in particular, the A9 which runs Perth to Aviemore....

Plenty of fun to be had off the main roads at mostly sub speed limit speeds though. :y

You cannae visit Scotland without popping round to Broocies for a plate of "Stovies". In all honesty it would be rude not too.
The address & phone no are...:- $^*bjf9e4m['xmxhwbeivkm0, sorry faulty keyboard, & my life would'nt be worth living!!!
Joking aside if you head n/w of Glasgow, past Loch Lomond which you HAVE too see, then pick up the A83 to Campbeltown then on to the infamous Mull of Kintyre. It's a long drive but the scenery is breathtaking with plenty of B&B's en route. I've been in the truck a few times & it's beautiful. :y

m8 has gone back to inverness to live and asks me to go up but just dont fancy it. now i do love dublin, great place to get hammered  :)

Can see why you don't fancy it to be fair if you've never been  :-?

i did ask the kids if they would like to fly up to edinburgh for the weekend sometime this yr, they seem keen so maybe  :-/

Flying to E'Bro is really cheap, or at least it was about 2 yrs ago. I had to catch a train to Durham and that cost me £90 one way. I also looked at flying to E'bro and had quotes ranging from £19 to £29.
