Bye bye Greenwoods

Next to go into Administration so I hear...

Nothing on the news pages yet though...  Apparently certain stores are to be bought out (by whom I don't know) and others will be closing.

Bit of a bugger really, as I got my last suit & 2 overcoats from there at a damn good price!

The Job Centre tried to make me go for the managers job in the Northwich store, I could have earned more flipping burgers in ronnies

They trained up some chap who used to sell cars (my understanding is its a chap who became good friends with the area manager as he got put forward even before current greenwoods staff who already had training for managerial)... He really couldn't be arsed tbh and showed no interest during training...

He's still looking for other jobs too atm, even before the news about the issues mentioned above!

I would have shopped there, even though I'm only 48, alas though they never seemed to do big enough sizes, were not all size 10 you know ;D

tried once before when looking for a suit for a wedding, couldn't get my size, they tried to sell me two smaller ones !!!!

cheap formal wear a good idea though, if I get a cheap DJ, I could go on a posh cruise

My first ever Job, after school was in Greenwoods, aged 14 years, 11 months and 2 weeks.  :D Was joining the Navy in November but my mum said get a Job or I was going back to school for a while. Walked into several shops asking about Junior sales job's and got offered 2. Didn't tell them I was only going to stay for a few months...... ;D ;D ;D
1972. Stockton High Street, and the shop is still there.
