Bit of bad (or good) news here.
« on: 24 January 2009, 22:36:11 »

Whilst I was clearing out the loft the other night, I got a call from SWMBO, she sounded rather upset, asking if I could come and get her as she has had an accident at work.
Understandably, I immediately jumped down through the loft hatch, grabbed car keys and jacket, tore out the house and into the mazda.

If she has had an accident at work, how bad could it be? She works in an accountants office.

Nonetheless, I was still rather concerned.

When I arrived at her work, I was faced with this.

The green Ibiza is hers.

Basically, she has been slightly injured, (fractured breastbone due to the seatbelt), but essentially ok.

Now, when the insurance pays out, we have two options;

1. We look at getting a new little puddle jumper for her.

or

2. If she can insure my Mazda for a reasonable amount, she will take that, and I get a another Miggy!!! :D

P.S. Option 2 was her idea! :o I was'nt expecting that!

She wants a black Mazda 6, I want another Miggy, sort of happy ending.

Shes a good lass really. :y

So, as per the subject of this post, every cloud and all that. ;)

Pardon my ignorance isnt the breast bone quite a sturdy thing...if its fractured surely thats quite serious.?

Glad she"s ok BTW  :y

I am amazed she broke her breastbone at the speed the accident was obviously at, with fairly minor collision damage that you can expect at 20-30mph which was, I would have thought, the speed involved.  It just shows you how even at fairly slow speeds the human body can sustain damage. :o :o :o :o

It reminds me of a long standing Police friend, who was on Traffic in Hampshire in the 1970s and again as a Superintendent in the 1990s. He described to me one of the worst and strangest fatal RTC's he had ever attended; 4 people dead in a car after it had hit a tree at 30 mph, all with broken necks! :o :o :o :'(

Always makes me very aware when I am traveling at speed in the miggy of what the risks are if I "lose it". ::) ::) ::)

Very pleased though big fra that your wife is relatively ok and I hope she soon fully recovers. 8-) 8-) :y :y

A tree is about the worst thing you can hit in a car - or anything else for that matter.
