Withdrawal symptoms
« on: 26 January 2009, 13:18:53 »

Thank goodness -- I have t'internet back!!!!

Most of the phone lines in our neighbourhood went down over the weekend (probably all that water sloshing about) .... and with it our broadband .... it's like losing a leg !!!!!!!!

Give Sky a pat on the back though ( I have Sky BB and phone line). I called their Sky Talk help line on the old (and I DO mean "old") mobile ... and right away they offered to call me back to save the mobile bill  :)

On the negative side though ... when the lines came back up this morning, still the BB wouldn't connect. So I called the BB help line this time. The guy there went through all the normal checks with me and decided it was the PC at fault ... so, says I, how come I get the same problem on a hard wired PC, a wireless PC AND the lappie ??? He has to have a think about that one and then decides to check the line and router.  There follows a 10 minute arguement over what colour the light on the front of my router was. I told him it was green and he says, "No it's not, it's red".  "No", says I, "it's definitely green".  "Ok, it's orange then" is his reply.  So I hung up ----- 5 minutes later the BB springs into life.

So -- Sky Talk 1 -- Sky BB Nil  ::)
