Carb cleaner ate my latex gloves in seconds, then ate my industrial marigolds but I've never heard of it devouring a keyboard ......... but then who would use it......... nice one TD

Bloody broadband went down  It's ok now though, I've given the hard drive a squirt of Carb cleaner and it's fine now  

Brillo pads are the best for hard drives

Try the dishwasher for LCD screens.....comes out lovely and clean.....but doesnt work anymore

Actually soap and hot water are fairly good for cleaning keyboards. A good dose of Squeezy works wonders.   Provided you dry it out quickly afterwards. I put the item on top of a radiator, which doesn't give time for corrosion to happen. No, don't laugh, its true. I once bought a duff laptop that was an insurance job, bottle of Pepsi in it. I stripped the whole thing down, washed it in the sink with soap and water, put it back together and it worked!. Mind you I have seen several where the soft drink has corroded the legs off the IC's. The sea's fairly corrosive as well, not really safe to swim in

I've taken your advice and covered my keyboard with Squeezy, but now all the keys make a squelchy noise so I'm off to soak it in the bath with a tub of Mrs Matey
