Acer laptop problem

My nephew bought a acer aspire 6930g laptop at xmas...all was fine till 3 days ago when the vista operating system came up as forgery and stopped working so some clever so and so has put another vista operating system on it so when you power it up it now gives you 2 choices i`ve looked at it and all it wanted was the original system validating so i`ve done that and now all is fine with that but how do i get rid of the 2nd vista system so that it powers up with the original validated system??? Confused...I am :o :o :o :o :-/ :-/

Hiya
Go to control panel
System
Advanced System Settings
Startup and Recovery (Settings)
Set the 'default operating system' to the one that works
Uncheck 'Time to display'
Sorted

And at some point remove the non-working version
