In a quandary
« on: 14 February 2009, 17:54:22 »

Need some advice  guys n gals ....

As you might know I am building a buggy (which is still in many, many spare parts) .... now, I have been offered a fully built one, SVA'd and registered. This will save a lot of heartache (in view of recently diagnosed medical conditions ...plural!! :'(  )  and a fair bit of dosh in the long run.

The quandary??  Well, to fund the purchase I will have to sell my Domino (which is a rolling shell) along with the part built kit and all the bits I have acquired for it ... as well as ..... GNU !!!   :o

This will leave me miggyless, but with a running buggy and the old faithful Nissan QX.......

What would you do ???

The question has to be......if you are having to sell so many things including some of relatively low value......are you going to be able to afford to run it once you get it!

Don't forget SVA has been replaced by IVA (or will have by the time you get it built). Technical requirements don't look much different at a glance but the cost of the test is going to be IRO 500 quid and there will be the inevitable confusion when it is launched and for some time after.

It it's what you want there is a lot to be said for starting wth something that's already on the road but only you will know whether you'll be happy with that or prefer to build it from the ground up.

It's not strictly just a funding question ---- with the fully built buggy I would't need the part built. The domino has to go anyway --- and SWMBO wouldn't let me keep the mig and the QX. (I am pushing it with the buggies !).  In the current climate I am more likely to get nearer the migs worth than the QX's  :-/
