ebay again
« on: 11 March 2009, 23:32:37 »

Found something on ebay today that I thought may come in handy, £8.50, no bids and just a few hours to go. :)
Only bid £8.50 and noticed that I was outbid at the last minute, spam bidders I think. :(
Bet it was cos I just got a second chance offer to buy at £8.50 ::) ::) ::)
Might buy it tomorrow ;)

I'm no expert but would'nt think it would power a laptop have thought of buying a power invertor say 300w+ but still unsure of the actual uses it would work with.. and for how long , you would deffo have to keep engine running whilst using it :-[

I would keep an eye on Maplins and search for 12v invertors.

Min 150w for a lappy and quite often they offer 300W for around £20, just sighn up to thier mail shot.

I have had one for a few years and rate it as money very well spent.  £19.99 for 150w or 300w, cant remember which but still happy with it.

75 watts will power a lappy, dvd, tv etc. Engine will be running anyway or from leisure batter in a camper, will be fine to run lappy for hours

I have a 300w one as part of a 'Jumper' kit, saw this when browsing and just thought it worth a punt as it is so small rather than my jumper thing. :y

If it's just a lappy or something else with relatively straightforward power connectors, then I'd suggest looking at maplins for a laptop power adaptor rather than an inverter.

I've never seen the sense in 'inverting' 12v DC to 240v AC, only for the laptop power supply to convert the 240v AC back down to 18v DC...  ;D
