Odd PC problem

Trying to run some video software I haven't used for a while and up pops the message: "A monitor has been detected on your system, please remove it from memory". Needless to say , the software then shuts down.

What is interesting is that the message box is titled "Themida".

Huh? I didn't load it, I don't want it or need it, and I can't find it in my software list.  :o

Any suggestions as to how to get rid of it?

thats the detector (in the app package). Its probably found tools such as softice etc

Any change in bios settings may (may not) result with the devices to work differently and will signal the op.system to do some arrangements in registry.. Obviously also any hardware change may end in similiar fashion..

Some programmers seem to think they write some very precious!! software ( I think that they spend some time to write mathematical compression algorithms and they try to protect) and distribute it with some extra protector software .. funny nowadays that every software can be hacked somehow :-/

That's useful info, guys, but I can't use my AVS video editor software to prepare a video of my daughter to send to my brother.

Can I get rid of it?

Time to use a different video converter program methinks.

By the way, what file type are you converting, and what file do you want to convert it to?

Yep, thanks for that.  :y I think it's an AVS problem. The file I wanted to covert is a VOB file and I wanted to turn it into a WMF file. It's no big deal, though. I think I'll get a better program.
