Avatar adjusted again ;) Any better?

I was more concerned about me & the dog than the cars paint.
It's called Cutless, a growth inhibitor for hedges.

If it is this one I think your neighbour is trying to wind you up!! ::) ::)

http://www.gomulch.com/index.cfm/name-cutless

Have you upset him at all, or has he got a weed up his arse about your car?? :-? :-? :D :D :D ;)

No Lizzie, we get on fine :y If you note, that's an American website & not in the EU ;)

So it is not the same product Pete, although with the same name and use? :-? :-?  Very unusual. ;) ;)

Just Googled this -- apparently it is also illegal to USE after 31st December 2003

Above refers to Cutlass -- the Cutless site that LZ discovered is for use of the stuff in the good old US of A

Thanks HC. I must type faster :D ;D

That's usually my problem  ::)

I must be slower than you :-[ ;D

Quite possibly is the same Lizzie -- the site I googled for Cutlass made reference to having to use shears in future --- so probably has the same use.  However the americans still use it ... being not yet so environmentally sensitive  ::)

That is the strange thing HC, the Americans are far stricter than Europe when it comes to regulating product that affects personal health, which is different than environmental protection. ;) ;)
If CUTLESS was in any way detrimental to health it would be banned, whilst here in Europe it could still be in use!! ::) ::) :D ;)

As above lizzie -- I think they are one and the same -- as they appear to both do the same job.  BBC referred to the banned chemical as Cutlass (with the "A").

I think it was banned here due to environmental damage, rather than personal health issues

If that is the case it is good news, and Pete has nothing to worry about.

I bet HC his miggy does more environmental damage than that spray, whatever it is called!! ;D ;D ;D :y

I think you are probably correct there, Lizzie.  Seems odd though that we choose to put growth accelerators on parts of the garden and inhibitors on others .... bit like mixing "uppers" and "downers" ... and look where that got Elvis !!!!!

I do think we mess around with nature too much -- one day it will turn and bite back, big time !

Let this be a warning to all who look after their cars and property, especially if you are going to use, or are in the vicinity of someone who is going to use a product like Ronseal sprayable fence paint, you know the one advertised using the laughing policeman music. It is foul stuff and goes everywhere, my nephew had to have new white drainpipes and a set of garden chairs/table after his neighbour used it, it is uncontrollable and a right ba****d to remove. The only thing that took it off his brickwork was brick acid, which is seriously dangerous stuff, so if you see Mr & Mrs next door coming back from a shopping trip with the Ronseal sprayer, let them know asap.

In my yoof, I lived at the top of a hill and decided to spray the old van I used for the disco ... nice arctic white. Was a breezy day, but all went well  :)

Later that evening I had a call frome several "excited" neighbours (living down the hill ....and downwind)  complaining about the white "dust" all over their cars  ::)

I had to T-Cut the whole bl**dy lot !!!!  Luckily it came off !
