Fixed it - hopefully!
« on: 02 May 2009, 18:11:58 »

The 406 TD, bless her.... hasn't been starting at all well. Loads of cranking over to start each day. Glow plugs working fine.

Leakoff pipes LOOKED ok.

Anyhow, today, thought "something stinks of diesel".

Lifted bonnet - leak off pipe on no4 split.

Cut short and re-seated and bled system through - started first time. Let's hope it's cured .

Just got the crank seal to do now - over the bank hols,  along with re-heading the mig!!  :y

Well you should have that done by 9 p.m then! Sunday will then be a free day to spend at leisure (remember that?) ! :y

Just like a neighbours 406........about 10secs of cranking and great plume of smoke every time he starts it!

10 seconds!!

It's been taking about 5 bouts of 20 seconds - nearly flattening the battery!!

Seems OK now though :)
