Phase two went well, got to stoke saw my mate , got to leeds

Phase three - the car!!!
I opened the bonnet, pulled rad cap and oil cap off, there was mayo - only a TINY bit, but in hindsight it was probably the bits he hadnt managed to wipe ( on the ridges etc?? as he kept us waiting 5 mins before he came to the door?)
Then there was a wind blowing when i started it up - went away after a while.
Then we took it for a drive and it seemed sluggish ( i know it had 4 wheels in the boot) BUT when it got to 4.5k it didnt change engine note or anything and didnt seem remarkable ( i know i have been driving a turbo but i still expected more grunt going from even my 2.5 cdx)
Got back had a look at the bodywork, theres a opps off big ding on the top of the n/s front wing, the trim above rear number plate was buckled and number plate was marked, there was a gash and big crack in the front bumper to the middle of the fog, there were spots of laquer peel on various panels, there was rust along the rear door under the rubber, by the rear spoiler where the boot met it.
I expressed my disappointment at the bodywork, and tina jumped in with how much will you knock off for the bodywork

(she is good at saying what i am thinking) he said i will take £900 ............ i won it on ebay for £926

For the first time in my life i walked away and although dissapointed - (i know it was a rover but damn clean and damn fast and i sold it for this!) Am glad i did as i would never have respected it due to the state of the body.
Also he claims he scrapped one that he broke and sent the history for mine to the scrap yard..... BUT kept the history off the one he scrapped?

Did get to York and was nice to meet some people - sorry it was in a noisy Honda, and sorry i didnt have much to say or go knocking on tent doors to introduce myself, just wasnt in the mood

Hopefully next time there is a meet i can come in a mig and be my normal silly self
