.....
me to drive only, cant be driven by anyone else regardless of their insurance, only garage or Police can drive it.

Never heard that before. Surely from a legal point someone else could drive it on their fully comp but be covered 3rd party.  :-/

No Andy, it is very clear. No one else can drive it, save garage, recovery or Police. I could have another driver on it, but swmbo was not into auto's at the time, will have her on the next one, due next year............. :)

Is this car an Elite recently appeared on eBay? Insurance companies don't generally like 'modified'cars.

Indeed Andy, when I worked for Cornhill Direct for a few months some time back, I learnt as an insurance call centre girl I had to refer any such insurance request direct to the under-writers.  Often they would turn such requests down, and tell me to refer the customer to a specialist insurance company for 'modified' or unusual cars.

Insurance is the bane of my life. I'm 19 with an Omega 2.2 CDX and they charge me £192 per month totalling £1929 per year, only pay 10 months. That's the best quote I had so took it, and unfortunately that's just the way it is :) Had licence since October 2007 no points or anything, parents added to policy but still quite expensive.
Was quoted £13,500 once...made me laugh.
