Record Bolt Cutters

I have some 36" Bolt Cutters that i would like to change the jaws on & before i tackle the task. Has anyone ever changed some? Are the main two bolts on the jaws (mine being 23mm heads) opposite thread? I've Googled for an how to, but alas zip.
Help please.
