I had a Mk1 Ford Mondeo 2.0 Si before i got the Omega.....

In fairness the Mondeo was faster (not so much weight)

Gearbox was better, much more 'notchy'

But the Omega was FAR better in ride, handling, its only a tad worse on mpg. Mondeo used to get no lower than 35, managed to get 40 without too much trouble.

Mondeo crashes and banged into corners, was like it rocks for suspension.

Cracking seats though!

funnily enough - the Mrs thought that my mk1 Mondeo Ghia was comfier inside - had that plush velour too which is nice and cosy i s'pose

handled like a jelly on stilts tho ...i remember trading it in the guy went thru the check list
what model? 2.0 Ghia
Leather? No
Aircon? No
Alloys? No

"what exactly makes you think it's a Ghia then?"

cheeky monkey  >:(

imho nothing special about mondeos.. may be cheaper than a miggy in total cost, but definitely not the same class..
