Scooter insurance
« on: 06 June 2009, 19:24:56 »

Stepson's scooter insurance is due, yes it is a year :( where does the time go :'( :'(

Anyway, he has a renewal from his current insurer, £60 cheaper than last year, which I would expect. :y

Decided to do a check on the net.
I put the value of the Scooter at £750 but lied about his renewal price, deducted £20, down to £300. Fully comp, with a £250 excess.

Got some prices starting at £301 upwards, all put the excess up to £750 :o :o  What is the point in having fully comp insurance if the excess is the same as the value of the scooter, think we will stay with the same company.

Also been running him on my can insurance, with a variety of small car's as well as the Omega :o :o :o :o

He's simply too young to start getting cheap insurance, and I'm guessing that the prospect of knowing that the excess is the same value as the vehicle is some kind of reverse psychology being used in a vain attempt to make him think twice.

He already has 1 year NCB on his scooter with his current insurer who wants £320 fully comp, £250 excess with breakdown / recovery, which we used last year. I am on it as well, which might have helped the price, did not put me down when getting quotes. :)
