OOP's No MOT
« on: 16 August 2009, 20:35:13 »

While checking the Mig and Mitsubishi MOT dates, coming up early September.  Discovered that the Mig ran out in the middle of June :-[ :-[ had to read it a few times till it sank in. ::) Not in daily use I have been running around a bit in it :-X
Best get it booked in week after next when I have a few days off, then if the Mitsubishi passes it's test Mig will be sold, well maybe...... :-/

No MOT = £40 fine and NO points.

Simple fact of the matter is (and this is written on the certificate itself)....the MOT ain't worth the paper it's written on.

Not strictly an old wives tale... Read the insurance small print and it may (or in this modern day probably will) state that the vehicle must be maintained to a roadworthy condition and MOT'd.

Any excuse not to pay out and they'll take it >:( >:(

Not according to here.

The RAC state it is entirely up to the insurance company, so it doesn't take a genius to work out what they would say in the event of a claim. Any excuse to avoid paying out a claim.
