Correct, and the only way you can get the V5 changed is to obtain a letter from the manufacturer stating what the CO2 levels are.

Simple... buy a pre-2001 mig, they are subject to the old tax values  :y

I got my new tax disk on friday it costs £104.50 for 6 months
for a year £190
next year from april 6 months is £112.75
and a full year is £205.00
