i updated my 300 today v6.52 ( wouldn't have done it if i had read this first) however , no problems, looks like its working OK so far, i have already programed it for my next run-out to donington park.
i do have 5.42 backed up , the files you need to replace are data.chk (1meg) , system(0.5meg) , and ttsystem(3.5meg) ( i think) ::)

i may be able to email them to you

Its the program that fires up when you connect the tomtom to your pc so yu can update the device.

Seeing as yours works as you successfully updated the tomtom device any chance can you send me the tomtom program file please?

Thanks,

Andy.

PS I have e-mailed tomtom but not holding out much hope for a reply this month :-/

the software i think you meen is the tom tom 'home' that lets you connect the 300 to the pc.
the file i downloaded is too big for me to e-mail (max 5meg limit).

however, i didn't have a copy on this laptop (it was on the main pc) so i downloaded 'home' at the same time ! this is the link i followed and clicked to download and run the EXE http://www.tomtom.com/plus/service.php?ID=17
