Browsing this forum on my Google phone is a joy, it loads the whole site fine. No issues with posting. I have done this one on my phone.

99% of my posts on here are via mobile, and web browsing is my main use, either via network or wifi. Just cant be arsed with a lap top, unless its posting pics, esp. as they kick out so much heat. Not possible to post pics with my current mobile.

Probably need something nearer a small internet tablet with phone built in......ish.

your so right r1, its a very individual thing. However some on here, use their devices to browse  oof and the web in idle mements and keep in touch when away from a pc. They will have a better idea whats out there and best suits their very similar needs than i will as i've been in contract for 18 months and havent bothered to look til now.

Its that similarity in use i'm interested in. Hence the what device question.

Some interesting options mentioned that i hadn't considered, but i suspect it will take something very special to pull me away from Nokia, bugs and all.

I believe the new Sony Ericsson Satio is being launched in the UK on the 7th October, 12.1-megapixel camera as well.

Been told its ready to give Nokia a good kicking?

Woo, satio has symbian o.s. which means a smart phone from sony, if they can keep the menu lag down, may be worth a look. Sony and smart phones havent hit it off for some reason ime. From what i've seen anyway. Maybe this will change things.

Mmmm, lots of lovely gadgets. :-)

Seems i have some homework to do.

Not sure I'd currently want to have a Google OS on a phone - just seeing the weekly CERT notices shows its still immature.  That said, how likely is a malicious hack attempt on a phone. But then there is a LOT of very valuable information on most people's phones.

Not aware of any security issues amongst my gadget mates, some of whome are reasonably techy. Is it something to be concerned about really?

Must admit i am a little disappointed J, no recommendation and not one gay refrance....:-( whats going on? ;D   ;)

I doubt for one minute you'd say the same if this was a PC we were talking about, so why are people so blase about their mobile (which is, to all intents & purposes, a PC)?
