If you travel untaxed, no matter how carfull you are, if you get clocked bt ANPR equiped Plod then you are paying a fine and back duty, even if only to the 1st of Oct.

They won't catch me  :y :y

Will probably leave it in the garage until I can get some rent sorted  :)

If its off the road and untaxed then you have to register it as such-cant remember the correct terminology.

SORN ;)

But in this case, it takes as long to sorn as it does to tax.  LSG - ring the dept, they'll tell you best option for quick taxing (prolly worth taxing from 1st nov, rather than 1st Oct)

Yep rang them earlier got possibly the most annoying person to talk too didn't seem to want to help at all, said: "Should've got it taxed before you bought it and just leave it in the garage is there anything else I can help you with or not" so it stayed tucked up (well aprt from it's cleaning time) today and with RM going on strike again tomorrow doesn't look like my insurance docs will be here either  >:(

Just out of interest, if seller sells a car on the 15th of the month with no tax on the car, but the cars is taxed for say 6 months and he is sending the tax disc back for a refund. As they only refund for full months remaining, then is the car officially taxed till the 31st of the month ? although I agree the offence of not displaying the disc is still valid, surely the car is still taxed for the road.

Ouch, that will certainly hit second hand values when these cars get a few years older.

I'll get the 6 months tax, then it's going to be kept and had fun in for about a month, then sold, can't afford that tax bill. All the others are going for at the very least with this spec £2500 more than I paid for it, so it's thumbs up on that front  :y
