« on: 01 November 2009, 13:47:20 »

Transfered some money the other day on the 28th Oct from one building society to annother.  The 1st one actually owns the 2nd one, but the BACS are still slow.

Checked the statement just now.

My bank (Barclays) never shows any transactions for non-banking days, ie. Sat, Sun, Bank holidays. The credit will show as being paid in on Monday even though you can view it now.

some building societies aren't on the faster payment system so still take upto 3 working days for the payment to process.
As regards the date it is showing a pending credit for tomorrow as it is currently the weekend and they still get interest on it until tomorrow but you gain from tomorrow  :y

They cannot take it earlier than the date stated on the bill they can take it out after though If they are doing this I suggest words are had with them as the money is yours until they withdraw it on the specified date and should not affect your available balance until then :y

Well if I were you I would print a statement off and if you do incur charges then challenge them.

But they are making the rules up to suit themselves again.

I have had a few chats with the TSB regards this and all you get is "you should have made sure the money was there then".

Sadly my income cant be advanced to suit the fact they take the payment early, I actually think they do it on purpose knowing they will make money from unauthorised overdrafts, plus the other thing is now there is twice the ammount of money in the account as goes out monthly they have not taken an early payment since.
