Looks like it puts a resistor on the line to the MAF or lambda.  He also has a rheostat looking thing that does more of the same.  For all his misinformation on other options, I wouldn't be surprised if it did have some effect.  You'd be amazed what ECU's will put up with, although hitting the button at full chat could be disasterous.

And what is probably a resistor or a diode . . .

I'm not saying that I support it, but I wouldn't write it off as a placebo.  There's a hundred other reasons not to do it, but it might actually make a little power.

Who needs to pay £400 for a chip when you can have a red bulb for a fiver.  Add a set of go faster stripes and there'll be no stopping you  ;D

Yuk! I wouldn't let that POS within a mile of my car!

Manufacturer spends loads of money mapping a sophisticated engine management system only for some muppet to try fooling it with a resistor and a relay.
