Postage costs
« on: 30 March 2007, 20:51:49 »

Need new wishbones as you all know and thought I'd get them from VSC as recommended, and also a steering idler (they need the reg to ensure correct part) and possibly a few new cam followers. Before I bought anything I enquired on the ebay link re postage for the wishbones. Received confirmation that postage cost will be £24 to sunny (?) N Ireland. I think that's a bit steep, particularly as another seller will post them here for £11.75!!!!

I have heard BuyPartsBy mentioned before on here, and was wondering if anyone can comment on them before I would commit to what I feel are excessive postal charges. I appreciate that VSC come highly recommended but I thought I would ask.
Cheers

Sunny N. Ireland?? It is the wettest bl**dy place I know, even worse than Scotland! (even Billy agrees!)  ;D

Postage charges of £24 are ridiculous!

Nothing wrong with Buypartsby. Go with theirs. :)

VSC use a courier. Royal mail charges to NI are same as the rest of UK. BUT, every courier I have ever used absolutely spank you for carriage to NI.

Go for someone that uses Royal mail - or parcelforce.

Steering idler is the same on every model isn't it?

I would have thought the idlers were all the same, but they want the reg number.

Going to get the wishbones from BPB, and sent a message asking if they would have an idler. Vx idler price around £50 +vat, and i think thats a trade price. Local factors wanted £87 for it! Cant see any others on ebay at the minute though there was one the other day.
