Laptop problems, can anyone help
« on: 10 February 2010, 12:30:20 »

I have a Dell inspiron 6000 and I'm trying to install a Belkin N1 notebook card to no avail. Windows keeps throwing up ' unable to install not enough free resources '.
Question is how do I free up resources without re installing windows?
Hope you guys can help   :y

you could enable them also in safe mode.. I dont think sys restore was necessary.. anyway you will have a fresh registry, so not a bad idea..

Down loaded a new driver from intel, now intel radio works but only for a few minutes but still can't get the Belkin to work. Windows just does not see it. [smiley=undecided.gif] [smiley=undecided.gif]

Yes but seems there are 4 different things using the same irq but I'm not sure how to change them or if I need to :-[

bios setup..

on older platforms it was definitely a problem, but xp,vista, win7 handles irq collision "mostly" without issue..   however not sure for 4 devices.. also it depends on dma usage and some other factors..

Just looked thro' the PDF you advised. Will have to disable the stuff connected to PCI 17 and see what happens when I reinstall the Belkin software. Bit of a pain in the arse this, as it was running fine untill my daughter when on F B to talk to mates. [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif] [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]
