You could try this :

To uninstall Internet Explorer 8, follow these steps :

Close all programs.
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Click Uninstall a Program under the Programs category
In the Tasks pane, click View installed updates.
In the list of installed updates, double-click Windows Internet Explorer 8.

In the Uninstall an update dialog box, click Yes.

Follow the instructions to uninstall Internet Explorer 8.
When the uninstall program is finished, restart your computer.

If you have window XP do below :

Close all programs.
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Click Add or Remove Programs.
In the list of currently installed programs, click Windows Internet Explorer 8, and then click Remove.

Follow the instructions to uninstall Internet Explorer 8.
When the uninstall program is finished, restart your computer.

tried lunchtime, didnt work. i have firefox now and got it just how i want it. happy enough

been using ie8 from the beta version up to now both on xp and windows 7..

I do rarely see sometimes additional tabs freeze  and dont work.. (although the first tab works)  in that case I close ie and re-open..

and in facebook I couldnt up-load pictures :( and use firefox instead..

imho ie performance is very dependant on antivirus software as the pages are being scanned on download..

if you want a fast working ie , I will recommend version 6..
(although will have problems on some sites)
