A lot of my collegues have one, they are pretty useful esp if space is an issue.  Just beware that the canisters are difficult or impossible to get abroad so check before taking it on your hols minus canister thinking you can get one when you get there....

You disappoint me .. :(

Have the men in khaki moved away from hexamine stoves and long life matches ???

 :D :D :D :D :D :D

In a word no,they still get issued but it is more of a personal choice with kit and convienience

Most use some most of gas boiler, being armoured I use the water boiler in th back or even the exhaust  ::)

Hexy is only used for emergencies now.  Not used it myself since training  :y

I only go to fixdrag armoured so our bv is in the cab at the front of the vehicle be it Foden or MAN

why does something that takes 1.5 mins to boil something need 6 f-ing minutes on youtube!
He didn't even demonstrate it boiling the water ffs :-?

Bunch of miserable gits you are, if you want to see water boiling, go turn a kettle on. It was a nice demonstration of how it all fits together.

Do you not know how to put water in it and light it as shown? Need a video for that too?  :-?

Number 1 rule of an advertising....you have 30 seconds to sell your product before the attention of the consumer fades....hes missed the boat.

It has 2 or maybe 3 key selling points.

1) Its very fast at boiling water (or heating other items)
2) Its compact and light

These are not conveyed in the first 4 mins let alone 30 seconds.

The details should be kept to the instructions....not the sales pitch

Crap advert  ;D

Better advert here, if you ignore the first 30 seconds of introduction to who is making the clips  ::)

I had all day to burn, so did not mind watching 6 mins instead of 30 seconds  ;D

I use an Alpine stove if I need something compact that will cook. Similar to this:

http://v-g.me.uk/GearTech/GearTech-Equipment-ColemanAlpineRV.htm

The advantage being it's much more stable because it doesn't sit on the gas canister and hence isn't too top heavy. You can but as large or as small a vessel on it as you can carry. Ditto the gas canister. If you can carry a large one, you can use it.

Only downside is that it needs to be sheltered from the wind.

Thats the most polite term for us it's usually spanner w4nker  ;D
I also haver the prior knowledge to only half fill the bv and keep the lid closed whilst on the move and let the craftsman burn themselves  (and grovel to others after they have for some hot water);D
