I have a busy 8 weeks or so now.

Rear brake replacement.
Petrol Filter change.
Clean car inside & out
Rewire towing electrics to 13 pin as the 2 x 7 pins are knacked
Clean caravan inside & out
13pin convert it
Find the coolant leak on the car, from behind the engine and when the thermostat opens. CAN I BORROW THE VALVE FITTED CAP PLEASE?
Make sure all the shower & toilet holes are properly sealed.
Service the caravan
Oil change on car
Put reinforcement under the carbon fibre repaired shower tray.

Took me less than half a day on the previous van ..

Bought the right cable and 13 pin plug from Sargents 

On the 2007 Abbey ALL the wires for both 12N & 12S went to a distribution panel under the front bed, and all connected to that panel using spade connections.

It was just a matter of spading up the new cable, noting where each connection went, and then ripping out the old and replacing. I went from  the distrubution panel outwards .. seemed easiest, then once I was fuly happy with the cable position and security .. cut to required length and fit the plug ...

then test and PHEW .. everything worked as it should ..

The slight lowering of Eibachs and the superflex pads to reraise over broken std springs (about 10mm if that) claimed the 12N on a pavement kerb - it has damaged the plate and will fall off soon.

car was nose up now very very slightly nose down, and is a LOT more stable, will be interesting at Easter when I pull the van out of storage

My GLS has the twin sockets on the tow setup.  Is there a live feed bypassing the ignition on the 2nd socket.

If you look at this diagram

It shows a permanent live off pin 4 of the 12 S (grey).. this is what you use if the van is left connected to the car "overnight" - obvious danger is car battery gets flattened.

ALSO..... on newer vans that feed is controlled by a "habitation relay" fed from pin 6 of the 12S ... which should be ignition controlled ...

What this does is to switch OFF all internal electrics when the ignition is ON, and divert the power to the caravan battery charge circuit. when the ignition is OFF, the internals work but the battery charge circuit is disconnected.

The idea being twofold ..

1) ignition ON - The internals being off will "discourage" people travelling inside the van - illegal anyway !! - and the van battery is charged.

2) ignition OFF - A faulty van battery will not be connected to a good car battery and so drain it ( or vice-versa)
