cheepie project, potentially??
Looking at the first picture - the drivers headlight needs adjusted  :y

But seriously,  £400 could be a steal,,, if the engine issue is the only problem

I saw this car on Egay a few weeks back at £600 and watched it get lower and lower in price.I sent the seller an email as to what is wrong with it and his reply was that it was 'not economically viable' for him to do the repair. Now as I have a '96 2.5 I was in two minds about buying this car and just doing an engine trasnplant with mine.Like mine it is an estate with a towbar. The only trouble is I have got nowhere to do the transplant and I don't have the tools neede to do it either  :(.Mmmmmm.

After a phone call, he admitted it wouldn't turn over, and has a BAD oil leak, told me off for being a time waster too....

Sounds like one to avoid. Surely he's been told something about the condition of the engine even if he's not a mechanic himself? How hard is it to say "it's siezed" or "there's a hole in the side of the block but the rest of the car's tip top"?

I wouldn't mind betting there's a whole lot more wrong with it than engine FUBAR and he's hiding behind the "told you it was not viable" comment to avoid any comeback. :-/

Being the eternal optomist could it just need a new crank sensor and the gaskets replacing? How gullable am I?  ;D
