Net Browsers
« on: 26 March 2010, 19:47:03 »

As well as IE8 and Firefox.  Which is the next/other browser that anyone would consider reliable and stable enough.  I need to keep at least 6 web sites open on it, so must have a multi tab layout like the 1st 2.

TIA.   :y

My netbook which is running Ubuntu is quite happy using Opera, multi-tabs work fine on that for me.

been using Chrome for a while - I like that as a browser.
Firefox now crashes on a regular basis - a lot when using this site and ABS forum.
Might start using IE8 - they've just seen what others have been doing and copied...........

Haven't tried Safari (on a PC) and don't know Opera at all.......

I think software houses  must come together and agree at some higher standards.. and bin that garbage html standard.. its too old .. insufficient for many things.. so all software houses try unusual things , million kinds of add ons, activex full of viruses etc..  and as a programmer I too suffer badly as trying to test codes in most used browsers and they behave different >:( >:(

Strange Cem, almost the same has happened with mine. IE8 now just repeatedly freezes. and closing down IE8 is the only way out....
This is on a desktop as well, not a laptop. Have now switched to chrome. seems much faster, and also easier to navigate??
Don't think I will go back to IE8, even it I could get it to run on this machine.

Google's Chrome. Quicker than all the other browsers (including Firefox), multi tab, incognito browsing ;) plus you can get loads of plugs should you want/need them (facebook chat, TV etc)

This is a brand new install, plenty of updates have been done from my SP2 setup, but the IE7 and media player upgrades have yet yo happen. so still on UE6, something wasnt quite right when ebony wouldnt load on IE6 so I went on youetube and it said they dont support IE6 anymore and gave links for IE8, opra, saffari etc, so I downloaded them all except IE8 and installed them to try.

Then as soon as I logged into opera my net connection was lost, allthough I had access to google I blamed the downloads for the problems.

Had to leave it as I habe had company tonight so just rebooted the modem to get back online to start testing.  :-/

All sorted.

I use FF as my main browser as I can adjust screen text quickly when I get tired.  So now have opera as my 2nd main browser so I can have a 2nd set of multiple tabs open.  Plus IE8 and then just have a 4th brower as I have 4 game avvounts in different names from the same site so that saves me logging in/out all the time.

Cheers for all the help. :y

my estimation is microsoft is making wrong assumptions on updates..which mess up the system later >:(
